MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has endorsed Pratapsing Rane’s comment who said that North Goa Sripad Naik must be MP again.
Chodankar tweeted that Rane is encouraging BJP to re-nominate Naik so that it becomes easier for Congress to win the North Goa seat. Naik is MP since last 20 years but has not done anything for his constituency.
It was unclear whether Chodankar was being sarcastic against BJP or Rane.
Chodankar didn’t want to clarify his tweet and said it must be taken at face value.
Congress sources say that Pratasing Rane is a senior leader but he is increasingly becoming an embarrassment every time he makes comments. One officer bearer said, “We can’t stop him from speaking because of his seniority and age. But such comments don’t reflect the views of the party.”
