MARGAO: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Girish Chodankar has demanded a public apology from Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for importing Mauvin Godinho and for allegedly fooling people and wasting time money and effort of the court, police and the people of Goa.
In a veiled attack on Parrikar, Chodankar requested him to keep cleaning the garbage in the Congress and make BJP a dump yard.
Addressing a press briefing at Margao, Girish said, “We have promised the people to give 25 new faces as there are many other corrupt people in the party and we have decided to clean it”.
When questioned on return of family raj issue in Congress with Babu Kavalekar and his wife Savitri Kavalekar preparing to contest in Quepem and Sanguem respectively, Girish said, “Babu is our MLA and he has been given the responsibility of 7 constituencies. These issues though will be discussed in the pradesh meeting soon.”
Speaking on pre-poll alliance, he said, “Right now we are preparing for 40 seats but if someone wants, there has to be proper discussions and application. The discussions cannot be something in the day and something else in the night”.
