PANJIM: Goa Dhangar Samaj Seva Sangh (GDSSS) has requested the Goa State Commission for Backward Classes to probe how a girl obtained MBBS admission possessing a Dhangar certificate.
GDSSS (Sattari) President B D Mote said the girl obtained MBBS admissions stating she belongs to the Dhangar Samaj, while both her parents posses OBC certificates and alleged that some mistake could have been done while issuing her the Samaj certificate.
Meanwhile, Gomantak Dhangar Mandal President, Chandrakant Kavlekar said that a hearing has been fixed for August 30, and added that Social Welfare Department will scrutinise the issue of how she produced fake documents for getting a Dhangar certificate. He added that they have contacted the girl’s parents but they have not responded.
GDSSS has requested revocation of the Dhangar Samaj certificate issued to the girl and added that a deserving Dhangar student is facing injustice.
GSCBC Chairman Vishwas Satarkar stated that scrutiny has started and it will take a week for the committee to submit a report, as to which category the girl falls into and whether she is a migrant who has come to Goa.
