MARGAO: The team led by Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council Agnelo Fernandes on Monday inspected the two proposed COVID Care Centres at Margao and Fatorda and put forth the requisition before the District administration to give possession of the same at the earliest.
Speaking to the media CO said that a few days back a major decision of two Covid Care Centres was taken at a meeting in the presence of MLA Digambar Kamat, Vijai Sardesai and Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco.
“On Monday we have inspected both the sites that are Indoor Stadium at Navelim and Nehru Stadium at Fatorda. We want to commence those centres at the earliest due to rising Covid positive cases in Margao and Fatorda”, he stated.
He also said that MMC has put their requisitions before the district collector and urged them to give possession of the two venues.
“MMC has already given a proposal to the government to give some basic infrastructure. It will be 25 bedded centres and will have a facility of oxygen and oximeters also. Will appoint four doctors and eight nurses each at each centre”, he stated.
CO has appealed to the public to help MMC by donating necessary items required for the centres.
