As the first step in this phase, GKN will hold a night vigil 12 hours from 10.30 pm on December 18, till the morning of December 19, the day Goa was liberated.

“The coal plans for Goa, the refusal of Government of Goa to listen to the voices of the people and its slavery to profit a few corporations, shows that nothing has changed from the days of colonial rule. Therefore, this struggle of the people is the real liberation struggle for Goa, which all Goans must understand and join”, said Goyant Kollso Naka.

“GKN requests all Goans and lovers of Goa to please join us for the night vigil for 12 hours from 10.30 pm on December 18, till the morning of December 19, in Arossim village. We also remind the Government of Goa that this movement will continue till all the demands placed before it are fulfilled and this movement will only be intensified until these demands are met,” said GKN conveners.

“The survival of our future generation and this entire world are linked to our struggle and it is the responsibility of every citizen to stop this coal transportation project, if we have any love for our children,” GKN added.
