PANJIM: Goa Medical College (GMC) on Tuesday said that round 1 of counseling-cum-admissions to 50 percent State quota Post Graduate (PG) Degree or Diploma seats for the academic year 2018-19 scheduled on April 10, will now be held on April 6, 2018.

The decision was taken at an emergency college council meeting on Tuesday as new registration, fresh choice filling and locking for Round 2 for All India quota is scheduled before the start of round 1 of State quota counselling.
Speaking to Herald, Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Shivanand Bandekar said, “We took an emergency college council meeting today in which it was decided that the dates should be April 6 as the earlier date was clashing with the All India counselling. About 25 students had given us representations that the date be changed to avoid a clash, so keeping in mind the students view the decision was taken.”
The venue and time of counselling-cum-admission will be the conference hall, next to the Dean’s office, GMC from 2.30 pm onwards. All candidates must remain present during each round with all original documents along with attested copies.
