GMC affected; HM, Dean deny

Even as Health Minister Vishwajit Rane maintained that he is arranging enough water for Goa Medical College operations, sources revealed that the hospital faced some major water crisis.
Sources revealed that surgeries that were not time bound were cancelled till the situation improved.
Officials said that water was supplied to GMC through tankers but it was not enough for laundry and housekeeping. “The toilets are dirty and stinking, could cause an epidemic,” sources said.
Rane, earlier in the day, said, The operations at GMC will not be hampered.”
When contacted, GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar said the hospital functioned normally. “Enough water was supplied through tankers and no surgeries were postponed,” he said.
