PANJIM: Several contract nurses attached to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on Thursday submitted a representation to the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) demanding regularisation of services or renewal of their existing contract at the earliest.
In the representation, the nurses stated that they have been out of service since October 19, as the authorities have failed to renew their contract.
They pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic cum emergency has laid stress on medical fraternity, with more specific nurses, who are working round-the-clock to save lives.
They said as frontline workers to any medical situation, the nurses have kept to their promise of saving lives.
