PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday ordered for the suspension of a multi-tasking staff (MTS) at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim, due to misconduct towards a woman staff.
In a statement, the Health Minister said that an inquiry headed by GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar has been ordered and if found guilty, the multi-tasking staff, Sumesh Hoble, will be dismissed from the government service.
“I have ordered the suspension of Sumesh Hoble, an MTS at Goa Medical College, due to misconduct towards female staff. An inquiry, led by Dean Dr Bandekar, has been initiated, and if found guilty, he will be dismissed from government service,” Rane said.
Earlier, in the month of March this year, Rane had suspended a doctor posted at Sub-District Hospital at Ponda.
The doctor was suspended as there were reportedly several complaints against him from relatives of parents.
“I have received several complaints from patients about Dr Reuben De Sousa. I have instructed Dr Geeta Kakodkar to submit the file to the Under Secretary of Health for the suspension of the aforementioned doctor,” the Health Minister had tweeted.
Mr Rane had said that a thorough investigation would be conducted and if found guilty, the doctor would be dismissed from the government services.
