GMC starts conducting MBBS classes online

PANJIM: While educational institutions are closed due to the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Goa Medical College has begun conducting online classes for its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students. 

“GMC makes history as its MBBS lectures go online from today in view of cessation of regular teaching due to the COVID-19 lockdown,” GMC said in a statement on Saturday. A total of 170 out of 180 students of the 2019-20 batch attended the first online Anatomy Lecture on “Scalp” by Dr Medora Dias. 

A day ago, the GMC decided to release 50 per cent State quota admissions for post graduate courses in medicine for the upcoming academic year 2020-21. 

The last date for compliance to deficiencies in provisional merit list will be by April 20, while the final merit list would be displayed on April 22. And the first round of online State Counselling and Admission will be held on April 27 and 28.
