PANJIM: A student from Goa Medical College (GMC) from Madhya Pradesh (MP) has challenged signing of compulsory bond for three-year government service post-graduation.
The petition has contended that the students selected from the all India quota should be exempted from the signing of bond with the Goa Government.
Court has asked the Director General of Health Services, Government of India to submit the reply clarifying the subject whether it is compulsory or it can be exempted.
Goa advocate general submitted in the court that all India quota students are not exempted from signing a bond with State government. He said that the bond is executed for three years as the State is spending almost Rs 48 lakh.
AG submitted that the Government is paying Rs 60,000 per doctor. He submitted the students also have provision for higher studies while signing the bonds.
