GMC super specialty block to be ready by Jan 2020

PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday announced that the ongoing work of 500- bed super specialty block of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) will be completed by January 2020. 
Rane on Tuesday inspected the construction work by the HSSC (Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation). The foundation stone for the project was laid in February 2018. 
“Inspected the super specialty block and it is one of my dream projects. The construction of the building has reached up to the 6th floor and is one of the largest projects under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana,” Rane said after the inspection. 
He said that the government intends to complete the work by January 2020, but it is expected to be ready by this December. “It would be fully digitized, paperless hospital and a state-of-the-art facility,” Minister added. 
Rane said that as per directions of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, it has been decided to fast track the project and that the equipment for the hospital will be also procured by HSCC to ensure that there is no delay in launch of the project. It is Rs 350 crore project coming up at Bambolim.
