GMC tightlipped on forensic test findings

PANJIM, JULY 29
A panel of doctors from the Goa Medical College, which included a plastic surgeon and a paediatric surgeon, on Wednesday conducted forensic examination on the badly bruised body of the minor girl who was subjected to torture at the place where she was employed in Porvorim.
However, Head of the Forensic Department at GMC, Dr Silvano Sapeco, remained tight-lipped about the findings of the examination. When contacted on two occasions, he asked this reporter to consult the police.
Reliable sources said the police have withheld the report as a few clarifications are to be sought.
GMC Medical Superintendent Dr Rajan Kunkolienkar said the girl has been shifted to Room No 2 in Ward No 106 where she was being treated.
Meanwhile, the anticipatory bail hearing of Meenaxi, the wife of Audumber Pednekar, and her sister, Tina, has been fixed for Friday at 2.30 pm.
SP Atmaram Deshpande said on Thursday the police will be filing a revision application against the bail granted to Audumber at whose residence the minor girl was employed.
