Margao: The Salon Owners Association of Goa has written to the Chief Minister highlighting the difficulties faced by the salon owners and barbers and revenue losses faced by those working in the field.
The barbershop owners have conveyed to the government that they are facing severe hardships due to the prolonged closure.

The Association said that 50% of the money charged from every customer that walks into avail the services of the Salon is ultimately paid to the staff and the rest is for the owners.
The balance 50% is spent on cosmetics, electricity, water, licencing, garbage fees in addition to miscellaneous expenses.
In view of the State likely to extend the lockdown, the salon owners said their difficulties are increasing and business has taken a massive hit.
They pointed out to loans taken to set up their salons and that many of their workers are stranded in Goa and the owners have to take care of their well-being.
They have requested the government to find a solution to their woes before their problems worsen further.
