PANJIM: In a bid to motivate school students to take up self employment, post their education, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is making all efforts to inculcate entrepreneurship qualities among them.
The Board in a circular issued to all the heads of Higher Secondary Schools, has asked them to form Entrepreneurship Forum in the schools. The forum will be headed by the Headmaster or Principal.
The Board, in association with Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in August had conducted workshop on introducing entrepreneurship for self employment among students. The concept is part of supplement syllabus-based education system for early orientation of students of Class XI and XII in entrepreneurship.
The coordinator of the forum will be the teacher who had attended the workshop. The student from each class or division will be the members while one local entrepreneur would be the advisor.
GBSHSE has asked the forum to visit and interact with entrepreneurs and depute students during vacation or free time in various nearby enterprises for experience. Any other activity suitable for development of entrepreneurship quality can be undertaken.
The Board has provided list of entrepreneurs who are associated with EDC.
Executive Council of the Board had resolved to promote a vibrant Entrepreneur Culture and Business ecosystem so that young minds are encouraged from beginning.
