Goa Board issues guidelines for students answering SSC/HSSC exams

One such instruction is that students who arrive 30 minutes late for the examination will be disqualified; Another is that candidates won’t be allowed to leave the examination hall before 1 hour from the commencement of the paper

Panjim: Notwithstanding the petition filed before the High Court against the conduct of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board examination, the Goa Board is all set to hold the examination for Class X and Class XII. While Class X exams will begin from May 21, the Class XII students will answer their pending three papers from Wednesday till Friday. 

As per the set of guidelines issued, the Board has said that student arriving 30 minutes late for the examination will be disqualified and that candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before one hour from the commencement of the paper. 

It is to be noted that nearly 18,000 students will appear for Class X examination, while another 17,000 students will answer Class XII papers. The examination will be held across 2460 classrooms, with 12 students in each. 

As per the revised time-table, the Class XII students will answer Marathi paper on May 20, on May 21 political science and May 22 Geography. 

On the other hand, Class X examination will begin with pre-vocational subjects on May 21 and May 22, while the First Language paper will be held on May 23. A two-day gap for Mathematics paper has been granted, exams for which will be held on May 26. 

On May 27, Second Language paper and on May 28 Third Language paper exams will be held. On May 29, History and on May 30 Geography papers have been scheduled. The main examination will conclude with the Science paper on June 1, which will be followed by other vocational papers till June 6. 

Board officials added that in view of COVID-19 pandemic all the necessary precautions like compulsory wearing of mask by supervisors and students, proper social distancing, and sanitisation of the examination classrooms have been undertaken. 

Special volunteers to assist the candidates to reach to their respective blocks have been appointed; as no parents will be permitted in the vicinity of 200 metres of the examination centres.

Also a Medical team at each sub centres and main centres, with provisions of glucose, small sealed water bottles, masks and sanitizers for the candidates will be in place

Schools have made arrangements for Bal Rath and KTC buses to ferry the students to the examination centers and back home. 

Safety precautions
>Compulsory wearing of mask by supervisors and students
> Proper social distancing measures to be followed 
> Sanitisation of the examination classrooms have been undertaken. schools will be provided with such equipment and can also purchase their own
> Each chair or bench in the classroom will be sanitized after each paper
> Special volunteers to assist the candidates to reach to their blocks have been appointed
> No parents will be permitted in the vicinity of 200 metres of the examination centres
> A medical team at each sub centres and main centres will be present along with the provision of a medical room in case of any emergency situation 
> Provisions of glucose, small sealed water bottles, masks,sanitizers for the candidates will be in place
> Schools  made arrangements for Bal Rath and KTC buses to ferry/drop the students.  Students can be dropped by private vehicles too 
> Masks purchased by the school will be provided to students if they forget to bring one. Hand sanitisers have also been purchased and students can bring their own hand sanitisers
 > Schools have also consulted with doctors to seek medical advice on what needs to be done and action has been taken in that regard

The respective Head of Centre has made arrangements for sanitiation. Paddle sanitisers will be provided at each sub centre. Team of volunteers will be appointed at each sub centre. Parents will keep out 200 metres away from the exam centre. If students fail to get a mask, a mask will be provided. Students can get their own hand sanitisers. School classrooms will be sanitised after each paper. Each chair or bench will be sanitised after each paper. For needy students bus service will be provided by school

123 students are answering the exams. The municipality person has sprayed the classes with disinfectant. The school management has purchased a spraying machine and liquid to sanitise the classes after every paper.  Masks have also been arranged for students who might forget. Sanitisers have been purchased for students.

As directed by the Board, the classrooms have been sanitised and bus arrangement has been made to provide pick up and drop service to the students. Students can also come in their own private vehicle. The school has also made provisions for a special medical room, in case of any emergency situation.

We have 170 students who are answering the exams. All the arrangements of buses have been made and we have also appointed a coordinator for its smooth functioning. All the floors have been cleaned and sanitized and the benches will be sanitised every day. We would also sanitise the buses every day. All precautions would be taken for the safety of the students.

The school management has cleaned the premises as well as the benches after taking advice from the qualified doctors. The premises and furniture will be sanitised once again before the exam day. According to the guidelines the parents have been told to drop their children 200 metres away from the school. There are two hands-free sanitizer dispensers installed at the premises for the students As far as transport arrangements are concerned most of our school students come with their parents and won’t need separate transport arrangements
