PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has decided to continue with the evaluation pattern for Class IX and XI students for the upcoming academy year 2023-24.
Introduced from Academic Year 2021-22, the Board had done away with the semester examination concept for Class IX and XI, making quarterly and periodic tests mandatory for the students. The students had to answer compulsorily two tests of 20 marks each, instead of one, during each of the term along with periodic tests of 10 marks each in every subject that will ease the assessment process.
There will be also assignment of ten marks each for each of the two terms. An aggregate of 33 per cent would be considered for promotion to next class.
“It is informed that the pattern of assessment for Class IX and XI, for the Academic Year 2022-23,” Goa Board secretary Vidhyadatta Naik said in a circular.
The Board has asked schools to conduct first quarterly test by end of July, second by end of September 2023, third by mid-January, 2024 and final by March 2024, end.
