MARGAO: All Goa Catholic Educational Institutions Day was celebrated at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on Saturday in the presence of Fr Sebastiao Mascarenhas, SFX, Superior General of the Society of Pilar and Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao.
The function organised by Archdiocesan Board of Education was held with a theme of “Educate to uphold Human Dignity while Building a caring Society 2020.”
On the occasion, 140 teaching and non-teaching staff, who have rendered 30 years of service, were felicitated with a memento and a certificate by the chief guest and the archbishop.
Addressing the gathering, the Archbishop said, “I am extremely glad to be together. I am happy that the respect for human dignity and concern for others are perennial values that need to be inculcated in students if they have to grow into well integrated human beings. The Catholic Church which has many educational institutions worldwide is proud to be an important and respected agent in the process,” Archbishop Ferrao said.
“Our Catholic education institutes have earned the esteem and respect of the society and even with the people in the governance as we go ahead as effective agents of transformation in our society,” the Archbishop added.
“Let us pledge ourselves to rededicate ourselves to help our children to grow into worthy and truly resourceful human beings,” he appealed.
