Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced that financial assistance under the Griha Aadhar Scheme and Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) will be increased on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the state.
Sawant said the increase would be announced when the Prime Minister visits Goa ahead of the state elections. “We give our word, and we fulfil it. We don’t lie,” he said while addressing supporters.

The Chief Minister also criticised the Opposition over its election manifesto, questioning its promises to voters.
The announcement comes as the Goa government continues to implement both schemes as part of its social-security measures. In March 2026, the government said assistance under Griha Aadhar and DSSS would be credited to beneficiaries by the 10th of every month. At the time, ₹45.26 crore was credited to more than 2.24 lakh beneficiaries.
The Dayanand Social Security Scheme provides financial assistance to eligible senior citizens, single women and persons with disabilities, while Griha Aadhar provides financial support to eligible homemakers.
The government had also indicated in its 2026-27 budget that financial assistance under Griha Aadhar and DSSS would be reviewed, with an increase in assistance proposed.
