Goa Congress Leader Amit Palekar Alleges Road Rage Attack by Drunk Youths in Taleigao

Goa Congress leader Amit Palekar has alleged that he was involved in a life-threatening road rage incident in Taleigao on Sunday night, claiming that a group of allegedly intoxicated youths attempted to attack him.

In a statement, Palekar said the youths tried to flee after noticing a police vehicle in the area. He claimed that he chased their car, noted down its registration number, and alerted the police, following which the occupants were brought to the police station.

Palekar further stated that he has decided not to pursue the complaint after the parents of the youths reportedly requested him to withdraw the matter.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation, the Congress leader remarked that “Goa is becoming nothing short of Mirzapur,” drawing a comparison with the crime-themed web series to highlight what he described as the state’s deteriorating public safety.

There has been no official statement from the police regarding the incident at the time of reporting.
