Goa Dairy employees demand prompt implementation of 7th Pay Commission scales

PONDA: The Goa Dairy employees have strongly demanded that the Goa Dairy Milk Federation  should implement the provision of the Seventh Pay Commission and accept other demands within the next seven days, failing which they threatened to launch a strong agitation.

On Thursday, the workers held a token protest at the gate of Goa Dairy.  All the workers participated in the demonstration by the Goa Milk Producers  Employees Union. The Dairy workers are affiliated to the ‘AITUC’ and labour leader Raju Mangeshkar and Adv Suhas Naik were present on the occasion.

The dairy administration is delaying the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission as well as the additional Dearness Allowance to the workers.

Raju Mangeshkar demanded that the pay commission be implemented immediately by Goa Dairy.

Adv Suhas Naik said that Goa Dairy is making profit and it is possible for the Dairy to fulfill all  pending demands of workers.

Naik said 46 workers of Goa Dairy have retired in 2021 and 22 daily wage workers have been removed. Thus the outgoings of the dairy have been reduced and   existing workers managing all the operations. So Goa Dairy is now in a financially in good  position to implement the Seventh Pay Commission scales, the employees said.
