PONDA: The Inquiry Committee members appointed by Goa Dairy farmers along with other farmers will jointly go on indefinite hunger strike from June 7 at Goa Dairy premises to fulfil their five special demands.
This was highlighted while addressing the media by Inquiry Committee Chairman Dattaprasad Savordekar, along with Jayanth Desai, Vikas Prabu, Ramesh Naik and Vaibav Parab.
The various demands by farmers includes the reduction of the cattle feed rates and as there was no response from Goa Dairy officials, the farmers have resorted to agitate.
The demands include the reduction of Rs 2.50 paisa price rise in cattle feed supplied by Goa Dairy cattle feed plant, to make public the report of inquiry conducted by Registrar of Cooperative Society into the alleged scam in Goa Dairy and to conduct inquiry into how there can be alleged scams into Goa Dairy despite Pankaj Marathe attending regular board meeting of Goa Dairy since past two years. They also demanded inquiry of MD Navso Sawanth and accountant Radhika Kale for alleged scams in Goa Dairy.
It was also demanded to improve the quality of cattle feed manufactured by Goa Dairy Cattle feed Plant and finally, the subsidies on milk rates which was not paid to milk supplying farmers.
