Goa Dairy gets new Administrator, MD

PONDA: In a dramatic development that raised eyebrows of many, Registrar of Co-Operative Society (RCS) appointed  Agostinho Misquita as the new Administrator of Goa Dairy on Thursday.

The Goa State Co-Operative Milk Producers Union Ltd of Goa Dairy (tri members) Administrator Durgesh Shirodkar was removed by RCS Arvind Khutkar with immediate effect dated January 5.

 Agostinho earlier held the charge of Animal Husbandry as director.

Durgesh on Wednesday had claimed that he had brought the loss making Goa Dairy into profit of Rs 3.75 crore for the year 2020-21.

Soon after his appointment, Administrator  Agostinho along with other two Administrative Committee members issued order dated January 6, for removal of Managing Director  Anil Fadte with immediate effect on disciplinary ground considering the various charges levelled against him and appointed senior chemist of cattle feed plant Kashi Naik as the new MD.

The charges levelled against Fadte include insubordination, illegal payment in the matter of Bhakti Extraction towards supply of cattle feed raw material, inquiry on non deposit of veterinary receipts of the Union beside harassment to one lady staff. However, Dr Anil will hold the charge of veterinary section. Naik will also hold the charge of cattle feed plant.

It may be recalled that former administrator Dugesh in press briefing on Wednesday had said that due to hard effort of his Administrative Committee, Goa Dairy had earned Rs 3.75 crore profit which earlier years was making losses. 

He had said that as a son of farmer he was able to achieve the target while the government officials appointed as Administrator run the dairy in losses. 

Durgesh had said that he managed to earn profit by plugging leakages and stopping the corrupt practices prevailing in the Goa Dairy.
