Goa Dairy likely to cut cow milk price

PONDA: Goa Dairy is likely to reduce the selling price of cow milk by Rs 2 from next month, as the state government has reportedly assured to bear the loss incurred due to reduction in prices.

PONDA: Goa Dairy is likely to reduce the selling price of cow milk by Rs 2 from next month, as the state government has reportedly assured to bear the loss incurred due to reduction in prices.
According to information, the decision to reduce the price by Rs 2 was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in Porvorim on Monday. 
Minister for Cooperation Deepak Dhavlikar along with Goa Dairy Chairman Vithoba Dessai, Goa Dairy’s board of directors and other government officials were also present at the meeting.
“The state government has assured to bear the loss that would be incurred after we reduce the price by Rs 2. A decision will be taken at the board of directors meeting next week and once approved, the proposal will be forwarded to the state government,” Goa Dairy Managing Director Dr N Sawant told Herald.
“The price of various types of cow milk categories will be reduced by Rs 2 once the board of directors approves the proposal,” Dr Sawant added.
