PONDA: The customers who are ready hit by the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities will have to shell out Rs 4 extra to buy one litre of milk soon, with the State government giving go ahead to the Goa Dairy’s proposal to hike milk price.
The logistic cost increased for all goods after fuel hike and milk is not exception to it. Following constant rise in prices of raw material and increased cost of transportation the proposal was put by Goa Dairy to Government for hike of Rs 4 per litre.
The Administrator’s Committee of Goa Dairy in its meeting held on April 1had resolved to raise the milk price and we’re waiting for government nod. The hike would be implemented in next few days.
After hike of Rs 4 per litre the Goa Dairy would provide direct benefit of it to its farmers by hiking their procurement rates by Rs 2 per litre.
