PANJIM: Goa Drone Policy 2022 and ‘Additive Manufacturing Hub’ were inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) Minister Rohan Khaunte.
Chairman of Goa Infotech Corporation Chandrakant Shetye, Director of ITE&C Praveen Volvotkar and others were present at the occasion. Goa is the third state in India after Telangana and Himachal Pradesh to have a drone policy.
CM Pramod Sawant said “We will have applications of the additive manufacturing and the drone policy in all sectors ranging from start ups to medical sector. Goa should be tourism capital, creative and IT and electronics capital and the drone policy will help in attracting industries.” CM extended full support to the industries in making best of the drone policy.
ITE&C Minister Rohan Khaunte said that IT has a dominant role in creating an ecosystem in making Goa knowledge and tech hub. “Goa has 3rd largest unicorns in the entire country. We will soon ahve a design village which will include creative technologies. Goa aspires to make it a model and the best village in the world,” he said.
“Goa Drone Policy will have several applications the most popular of which are mapping, surveying, photography, videography etc,” he added.
