Goa witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday, coupled with
thunder and lightning. The IMD has predicted light to moderate thunderstorms
are expected to sweep through various regions in both North and South Goa
districts in the hours ahead. These thunderstorms may come accompanied by winds
reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The downpour is expected to
last until Monday.
Currently, cloudy conditions prevail over multiple talukas,
including Pernem, Bardez, Bicholim, Tiswadi, Ponda, Sattari, Mormugao, among
others. Furthermore, there is an anticipation that these cloud formations will
gradually advance towards Salcette and Quepem. As these cloud systems continue
their eastward movement, it is likely that other talukas across Goa will also
experience the impact of these weather conditions.
