GOA GUV MALIK TRANSFERRED TO MEGHALAYA

NEW DELHI: Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik (74) has been transferred for the third time, as the new Governor of Meghalaya this time. He was the 18th Governor of Goa.
This is fourth posting of Malik as a governor. He was first appointed the Governor of Bihar in October 2017 and continued there up to August 2018 when he was shifted to Jammu and Kashmir as the governor and then moved to Goa on October 25, 2019.
The Presidential press communique shows his successor in Goa has not been decided immediately as Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari (78) will discharge the functions of the Goa Governor, in addition to his own duties.
A politician from Uttar Pradesh, who was a Janata Dal MP and then joined the BJP, Malik is known for expressing his views without inhibition or restrictions bcause of holding the constitutional post.
