PANJIM: Water Resources Minister Vinod Palyekar on Tuesday said Goa has enough water stored to tackle any shortage problems that may occur during the summer weeks ahead.
Palyekar, speaking to the media, said the water lever at Selaulim is almost 34.56 mtrs which is sufficient to provide water for 300 days.
He said the water level at Anjunem is almost at 81 mtrs which is sufficient for 90 days, while at Amthane dam the water level is 47.28 mtrs which is sufficient for almost 300 days.
Palyekar said that the water level at the Panchawadi dam is at 22.41 mtrs which is good enough for 150 days and at Chapoli dam the level is 32.68 mtrs which is sufficient for 525 days.
Palyekar said the department is set to tackle any problem that may arise during the summer. He added that he had discussions with all the officers of the department regarding their works and projects.
He stressed on transparency, punctuality and discipline and has asked all officers to install biometric machines and maintain movement register and work diary.
