PANJIM: Goa now has just two active positive cases of COVID-19, with four out of six, testing negative for the virus.
Also, on Saturday, no new suspected case of coronavirus was reported in the State, while 15 quarantined patients tested negative.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said, “We are happy to inform that samples of four patients, who had tested negative, were tested again as per protocol and reported negative,” Rane said.
Earlier this week, one other positive patient had recovered and been placed in quarantine. The State has reported total seven positive cases so far.
Rane said the State is following all the guidelines of ICMR and as per the procedure have conducted all the necessary tests. He congratulated the team of doctors at ESI Hospital under the guidance of Dr Edwin Gomes for doing a commendable job with providing state-of-art patient care and ensuring complete recovery.
As per the bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), seven people are in the isolation ward of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) and 120 passengers have been placed under home quarantine.
Of the 25 samples sent for testing, reports of 15 are negative while 10 reports are awaited. Currently, there are six patients at the COVID hospital Margao.
Contacts quarantined at Margao Residency are five, Old Goa Residency are three and there is one in sub-district hospital Ponda.
