Goa is ready with infrastructure, facilities to handle third wave: Health Minister

VASCO: Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane presses for 100 per cent vaccination in Goa against COVID-19. Rane claimed all necessary infrastructure, medical facilities are kept in place to face the third wave and urged to strictly follow the safety norms to defeat COVID-19.

Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane was all praises for the frontline health workers—nurses, doctors and other staff from the medical facilities. He said that the felicitation program was held purposely to express a sense of gratitude towards these medical staff who has served people by putting their lives on the line during a pandemic.

When asked about the signs that would indicated third wave in Goa, Rane said is not known from where the third wave would come but claimed that all the medical preparations and infrastructure have been made ready to face the third wave. “We are focusing on a 100 per cent vaccination mission, and only total vaccination can save us from the severity of the CoVID19 infection,” he said. 

Cortalim MLA Allina Saldanha said that the medical staff has been advised to take care of themselves by following precautionary measures on COVID-19 as the third wave is expected. “We need medical staff ready to do their good work in such testing times,” she said.

For this function, Director of Health Services Dr. Jose Dsa, Dr. Rajendra Borkar, Dr. Gauns and others were present who also appreciated the work of the nurses and other medical staff.

Rane assures job security to nurses, medical staff
VASCO:  Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane on Friday assured the contractual nurses and other staff won’t have to worry about their job security henceforth. In the next three months, the issue of their job security will be taken care of by the government. 
“I want to assure you on behalf of the Chief Minister of Goa that all contractual nurses and all the contractual staff who have given their best by serving people during the pandemic will get good news with regards to the jobs. We will do whatever is required to put you on track. All these contractual nurses and staff who are worried about their job security will not have to worry about it as this issue will be taken care of in next three months.”
