There is some good news to the Non-Resident Goans (NRGs) and the property owners as they can know the details of their properties at a click of a mouse with the State Directorate of Settlement and Land Records planning to upload the land records on the web.
After achieving success with the “Land Records Information System”, the department is now toying with the idea which will help the NRGs and others to keep a check on manipulations in land records.
“We are planning a web-based system wherein a person can access the land record at the click of the mouse from anywhere,” Director of Settlement and Land Records Mihir Wardhan said while addressing a press conference.
Wardhan added that the owner will need to just put the survey number of the property and get details like survey plan, Form I and XIV etc instantly.
“They can even get a print through a payment gateway,” he said.
Wardhan said the Goa Electronics Limited (GEL) is giving final touches to the project which would be launched very soon.
He however, did not specify the deadline for the launch of the project.
Wardhan, who was accompanied by Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza, stated that there were several complaints from the NRGs and other property owners from other party of country that their names have been replaced with some one else’s in the form I and XIV.
“This will help them to keep a check on the same,” he stated.
Digital land survey: Wardhan said that his department will launch the digital land survey of Tiswadi taluka by the end of this month.
The department has taken up the exercise of resurveying all the talukas, which they would upload on the website. This they say will help the government departments during land acquisitions.
“The first re-survey plan of Tiswadi will be uploaded on November 29 or 30, while the rest will be completed within a year’s time,” Wardhan said.
He said that these will help the departments to know whether there are any existing structures at the place they plan to acquire.
