PANJIM: Goa objected to unauthenticated plans and maps produced by Maharashtra to examine its witnesses in the Mhadei case before the inter-state tribunal.
Finding the Goa witness tough, Karnataka wound up its cross examination on Tuesday afternoon as the crucial questions asked by Karnataka were aptly answered by Goa’s witness Chetan Pandit.
Thereafter, Maharashtra began its cross examination and their counsel together with engineers were in a piquant situation after Goa’s Senior Counsel Atmaram NS Nadkarni objected to the Plan Map produced by Maharashtra to cross examine Goa’s witness.
Nadkarni threatened to move a perjury application against the engineer for bringing a concocted unsigned document and upon a stern warning by the Tribunal, Maharashtra pleaded to withdraw the same. Maharashtra was not able to ask a single question
Arguments on behalf of Goa were led by Nadkarni and assisted by Additional Advocate General Dattaprasad Lawande.
