Goa Pavilion at WTM impressive: Goa Tourism

PANJIM: Goa Tourism put up an impressive show at the World Travel Mart (WTM) London 2016, earlier this month with it pavilion showcasing new initiatives and activities, a statement from the Tourism Department said.

The stall depicted various facets of the State including temples, churches, rich heritage, new attractions launched by tourism, adventure sports, beaches, MICE. A ‘Goa Evening’ showcasing folk dances, cuisine and culture was also held at the stall. 
“WTM was significant due to various factors, including promotion of e-tourist visa facility as UK is an important destination in the ETV list. This has helped boost numbers and will continue to be a big game changer for Goa Tourism,” Tourism Deputy Director Rajesh Kale said.
Several B2B meetings were conducted between travel operators from London and Goa Tourism officials and delegates. Special meetings were held between Thomas Cook and Goa Tourism to increase the frequency of the former’s flights from London to Goa and add more facilities for tourists.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar was awarded Best Innovative Minister by Pacific Area Travel Writers Association  at the WTM London 2016. “I am honoured by the award and dedicate it to the hard work put in by my team in making Goa a State with the most innovative tourism attractions,” Parulekar said.
