PANJIM: The Goa Police on Friday promoted 20 police constables to the level of head constables on regular basis. The constables are currently posted at different police stations and units including Reserve Police.
The promotion comes at a time when the department is facing criticism for delaying promotions of several senior officials/personnel.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had recently said that promotion in the department should be based on performance.
He had emphasised on amending the existing promotion scheme within the department, which should not be based on seniority.
