PANJIM: The daily COVID positivity rate has dropped to 10.48% on Tuesday. 327 new cases were detected while 3,120 samples were tested. It may be recalled that on Monday, only 1,695 samples had been tested.
The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) reported 10 deaths on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, 279 new persons were placed under home isolation, 45 new patients were hospitalised while 48 persons were discharged from various hospitals in Goa. 548 persons have recovered and the recovery rate is now at 95.63%.
Five of these took place at Goa Medical College (GMC), whereas, from the remaining five, 4 deaths were reported at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) and one death was reported at a private hospital in South Goa (Victor Hospital).
All of ten deceased persons had comorbid conditions, as per DHS.
The youngest amongst these to succumb to the infection was a 44-year-old-male from Bhatlem. The remaining nine deceased persons were all above the age of 51 years.
The cumulative number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has now reached 2,947.
