Goa records drop in minimum temperature

PANJIM: At the height of the sweltering summer heat in May, Goa has recorded a sudden drop in the minimum temperature. On May 1, the minimum temperature recorded was 27 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature recorded on May 2 dropped to 24 degrees Celsius. Whereas for the maximum temperature, no significant changes were seen as it is still at 34 degrees Celsius.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa, indicated that hot and humid conditions will prevail in isolated areas on May 3. However, overall weather conditions are expected to remain fine, with temperatures under control across the North Goa and South Goa districts.  No major changes in the maximum temperature will be seen for the next three days. 

Over the past 24 hours, no heat-waves were recorded with the State which has seen maximum temperature range between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius over North & South Goa districts for the next seven days. No major change in maximum temperature is expected for the next five days. No significant change in relative humidity and wind speed is expected during the next seven days. The heat index is expected to be below 40 degrees Celsius during the next seven days. In both districts, the weather is likely be dry from till May 8.
