In a concerning update, Goa has recorded 152 confirmed cases of dengue and an alarming 4,511 suspected cases during the months of August and September 2023. This surge in dengue cases has raised significant health concerns in the region.
Since the beginning of the year, Goa Medical College (GMC) has reported a total of 16 dengue-related deaths, underscoring the gravity of the situation.Dr. Sadhna Shetye, a healthcare expert, emphasized the importance of cleanliness and good hygiene in preventing the spread of dengue. She urged individuals experiencing symptoms of dengue or fever to prioritize their health by getting tested promptly or seeking medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility. Early detection and appropriate medical care are crucial in managing dengue and preventing its severe consequences.
