Unidentified body cut into half, dumped in Mhadei river at Bhironda

PORIEM: The idyllic touristic destination that also hosts the prestigious G20 from today has apparently been rocked with another murder after the recovery of an unidentified body that was cut into half and flung into the Mhadei river at Bhironda Sattari on Sunday making it the third murder on day three.  

The body was gruesomely cut into half. As news spread like wild fire, the Valpoi fire services personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the river.

Valpoi fire personnel said that the body was found in decomposed state and only the half portion of the body was remaining. “The hands were also missing,” said fire personnel. The body was later handed over to the Valpoi police who conducted the.

Valpoi police conducted the panchanama, but could not identify the body. Police is further investigating the case.

It may be recalled that on Friday Nibin, B K a Nepali national was found murdered in an open field opposite the Bodgeshwar temple at Mapusa, while the Ponda police arrested Tyofil Lakara, a native of Chattigarh for strangulating his wife Melo Lakara to death.
