Goa Set to Bring Ozempic-Like Drug into Public Healthcare

Goa may soon introduce an Ozempic-like drug as part of its public healthcare expansion, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced. The initiative aims to improve treatment options while strengthening preventive healthcare measures in the state. Alongside this, the government continues to focus on cancer screening and newborn health programs, offering services like free insulin distribution.

Rane said the proposed drug would be introduced carefully, with proper monitoring of patients to ensure safety and effectiveness. He emphasized that while the medication is easy to begin, continuous observation of health parameters is essential. The minister added that such initiatives are possible due to strong support from the state leadership,
