PANJIM: In order to widen vendor base and improve business relations with vendors, a one day vendor meet was jointly organized by Goa Shipyard limited (GSL) and MSME Development Institute at Goa Ship Yard Officers’ Club.
RAdm(Retd) Shekhar Mital, NM, CMD Goa Ship Yard Ltd in his address stressed the need for holistic relationship between vendors and GSL and emphasized on the quality of products and services of MSE’s to support the ancillarisation. CMD said e-tendering, bill tracking system (BTS) have been introduced in GSL in order to have transparency in processes. He further said that on-line vendor registration is being implemented to simply vendor registration.
P V Velayudhan, director, MSME-Development Institute, Margao highlighted the importance and contribution of MSME sector to country’s economy and said that the event will open an opportunity for Micro and Small Enterprises to develop business relation with GSL. R Choudhary, director (Operations), GSL, talked about the need of such vendor meet. N K Kulkarni, HOD (commercial), GSL, gave a presentation on Vendor registration and E-Tendering. Besides, schemes of MSME and NSIC were also covered during the day long programme.
Shashi Kumar M, Asst director and Udaykumar A Bhat, Asst Director of MSME, were present on the occasion. A M K Srinivas Rao, DGM,GSL welcomed the dignitaries and participants. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Marutidas Naik, Asst Manager.
