Members of the Scheduled Tribes community from different parts of Goa gathered at Shramashakti Bhawan on Monday seeking clarity over the delay in implementing political reservation for Scheduled Tribes in the Goa Legislative Assembly under Article 332 of the Constitution of India.
The gathering reflected growing concern within the Scheduled Tribes community regarding the continued delay in notifying and enforcing the legislation, despite repeated demands for rightful political representation in the state assembly.

During the meeting, community members raised the slogan, “Our Rights, Our Seats, Our Representation,” emphasizing their demand for adequate representation in the democratic process.
Representatives of the community urged the government to immediately notify and implement the Act to ensure political reservation for Scheduled Tribes and safeguard their constitutional rights in the Goa Legislative Assembly.
The participants stated that timely implementation of the reservation provisions is essential to provide fair representation to Scheduled Tribes in the state’s political framework and decision-making process.
