PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday chaired the meeting with representatives of political parties, officials and family members of former Chief Minister Dayanand `Bhausaheb’ Bandodkar to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Goa’s first Chief Minister on August 12.
The meeting discussed programmes to be organised on August 12. However, the Opposition Congress Party has urged the State government to immediately take up the work of refurbishment and beautification of Bandodkar’s Samadhi at Miramar. The government should also come up with a special initiative to provide basic infrastructure to all the schools across the State as a tribute to the visionary Chief Minister, who laid the foundation of educational system in the State.
