PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that all relaxations given by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in Unlock 1.0 would be implemented in the State. The Goa government, he said, will decide on granting more relaxations after discussions in the cabinet and with the authorities concerned.
“All the relaxations granted by the MHA will be implemented. We are also taking a call on giving more relaxations,” he said on Monday.
Inter-state public bus transport will, however, not be allowed for another month, he said. “Unlock 1.0 has commenced,” he said, asking outsiders entering Goa to make their own provisions for accommodation and strictly follow all norms vis-à-vis social distancing, wearing of masks and health safety guidelines.
“Although restaurants and eateries will be opened with 50 per cent capacity from June 8, decision on starting hotel industry will be taken after July 1 by looking at the prevailing conditions. Partying is not allowed in the State as of now,” the CM added.
Sawant admitted that 87,000 migrant labourers are exiting Goa for their native places, a situation which might create a shortage of workers in the real estate industry and other sectors. He appealed to Goans to take up some works which are feasible for them.
