PANJIM: Continuing the attack on opponents, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday said that Goa too has suffered from the new design of FDI – Foreign Destructive Ideology.
The statement came hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his speech in the Rajya Sabha, urged India to be united to protect itself from the new FDI as he criticised comments from international celebrities on the ongoing farmers’ protests.
In a series of tweets, the Chief Minister admitted that a new FDI has come into fray. “The country has to be saved from this new FDI. This new FDI is #ForeignDestructiveIdeology.”
“The PM Narendra Modi has correctly said that we need to be aware of the Andolanjivi and be cautious about the new FDI,” Sawant tweeted further and added, “Goa has also suffered from a similar design.”
The Chief Minister, earlier last week, had accused opposition parties of motivating “external forces” to create unrest in the State.
Sawant on February 4 had said that Goa has been a victim of propaganda for the past several months, which has been “significantly fueled by external forces”.
His repeated statements refer to the ongoing campaign cum protests by several NGOs, backed by opposition parties on the proposed linear projects – double tracking of railway line, widening of the National Highway and the Power Transmission line – passing through the Mollem forest.
Goa Forward Party (GFP) had also written to international agencies like UNESCO seeking the latter’s intervention.
