Goa University suspends online classes from May 11 to 24

PANJIM: The Goa University has suspended all the online classes for programmes offered by it and its affiliated colleges from May 11 to 24 and has declared it as vacation period. 

The decision has been taken in view of the curfew imposed in the State due to COVID-19 pandemic. 

“The University has decided to suspend the conduct of online classes for programmes offered on the University Campus and at its affiliated colleges from May 11-24,” the University circular issued on Monday stated. 

The period of two weeks from May 11 to 24 shall be considered as vacation for the staff and students, who are eligible for vacation. 

“Non-vacation staff shall continue to work from home as per the directives of their respective Directorates/Institutions,” the University mentioned.

It has also stated that the affiliated colleges offering professional programmes governed by Statutory Councils/Bodies shall however continue to follow the Guidelines/Advisories of their respective Councils. 

Earlier, the University had informed said that offline examination will not be conducted before June 16 while online examinations were postponed till June 8.
