Goa University to address Ordinances on degrees

Goa University has initiated the process to address the various issues arising out of the Ordinances governing the degree programmes in Engineering and other disciplines.
A press note issued here by the varsity states that the Standing Committee of the Academic Council of GU, in its meeting held on February 25 had deliberated upon various issues arising out of implementation of the Ordinances.
It had appointed a sub-committee to review Ordinance OA-16 pertaining to the provisions of maximum duration and attempts for answering examinations, it note stated.
It states further that the sub-committee has submitted an Interim Report recommending certain amendments to the present Ordinances in a way that may permit students to continue in the system.
The Interim Report will be placed before the full Academic Council during its next meeting to be held on April 18, 2009, for consideration, the press note mentions.
