Jina says BJP will release grants for it

MARGAO: The Goa Urdu Academy was inaugurated with the launch of its website at the hands of Vice-Chairman of Goa State Haj Committee Sheikh Jina.
In his speech, Jina assured that the BJP government will release grants to the Goa Urdu Academy and promise to take up the issue with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. He further said that Urdu language is one of the most loved languages of the Chief Minister, while expressing confidence that the latter will take all steps to uplift the same in the State.
Chairman of Goa Urdu Academy Urfan Mulla said the objective behind opening the Academy is to promote Urdu language, literature and culture in the State.
He said the Academy will recognise the services of persons working for the cause of Urdu through prose, poetry, Journalism, education and confer awards on them.
While saying that the Academy will extend financial help to Urdu authors who cannot publish their books, Urfan said the Academy will provide facilities for budding writers by arranging creative workshops, and promote women literature, children literature and ghazal singing.
