Goa Velha resident succumbs to injuries

PANJIM, MAY 7 One Ashley Alex Mendes, resident of Goa Velha succumbed to head injuries on Friday, three days after his two-wheeler vehicle was hit by a speeding mini bus at Campal.

One Ashley Alex Mendes, resident of Goa Velha succumbed to head injuries on Friday, three days after his two-wheeler vehicle was hit by a speeding mini bus at Campal.
According to police, Ashley was heading from Miramar to Panjim when his bike was hit by a mini bus GA-01-U-1585.
Ashley sustained head injuries and was admitted to Goa Medical College where he breathed his last today.
The driver of the vehicle Subash Velingkar, who fled from the scene after the accident along with the bus, is still absconding, the police said.
The Police have registered a case under Section 338 of IPC and Section 134 (a) and (b) of the Motor Vehicle Act against the driver.
Recently, former Director of Civil Supplies and ex-Deputy Collector, Simon Paes succumbed to injuries after he was hit by a Dio bike driven by a 19-year-old boy in Cunchelim, Mapusa. An upgright and sincere officer, 74-year-old Paes held several positions in the Goa Administration including Administrator of North Zone.
