mapusa: The GOACAN has expressed concern about the safety issue at the ‘May I Help You counter’ of the Citizen Service Centre, which has recently started operating near the public toilet, at KTC bus stand in Mapusa.
In a letter addressing to Deputy Collector Bardez , Akshay Potekar, the NGO informed that the ‘long-overdue’ Centre which is a step in the right direction, has received complaints from senior citizens and women.
The NGO added that they are facing hardships while accessing the “May I Help You counter” of the Centre wherein the consumers have to go through an opening created in the wire mesh fence to reach it.
“The wire mesh fence was provided to prevent stray cattle entering and also to prevent garbage from being dumped next to the Citizen Service Centre. However, in Mapusa, a window which was meant for ventilation has been turned into a May I Help You counter’, where an opening has been hurriedly created in the wire mesh fence so much so that the opened wire mesh and pole have been left in such a way that it has hurt some of the consumers who have visited the Centre,” said GOACAN.
They urged the Dy Collector to visit the Centre and address these issues as soon as possible.
